Durham Castle Wedding Photography – Becky & Chris are University College Durham alumni. It was lovely that they chose to hold their wedding at Durham Castle, next to Durham Cathedral. The Castle is seriously old, like Norman 11th century old. What first struck me was it’s immensely atmospheric halls and corridors to explore. Although this type of wedding venue is jaw dropping to look at, from a wedding photographers perspective, requires extreme care. The scene you are photographing can change from bright harsh light to pitch black in the space of a few meters. Just the kind of challenge I get all giddy at.

The wedding suppliers and accessories Becky & Chris chose for their wedding were really fantastic. You should know I have a soft spot for not only skilful but UK grown floristry. Becky’s flowers provided by The Good Natured (A personal favourite) were perfection. The bright pops of colour exploded against the subdued colour palette of the castle and next to Chris in his blue suit felt like we were in a Dolce & Gabbana advert.
Next special mention goes to those Harriet Wilde Shoes!!!!!! Which set off Becky’s Emma Victoria Payne dress and Tilly Thomas Luxx Headband elegantly.
Hair dressing was provided by the lovely Holly at Wigwam Liverpool.
Although up to the ceremony the weather had been rather wet, as we left the chapel service the skies brightened and their guests were able to enjoy the castle’s amazing courtyard.
The kids at this wedding were some of the most funny to photograph I have ever come across, litterally lol-ing at my desk as I processed these. What an incredible banqueting hall. I heard quite a few Harry Potter references over the wedding breakfast. Durham Castle Wedding Photography
