Somerset Wedding Photographer

Anne & Morgan chose me as their Somerset Wedding Photographer as they were getting married at one of my personal favourites Park Farm near Yeovile. Although they live in London they chose to leave the city for the most rustic of wedding venues close to Anne’s home town. Park Farm has been the type of wedding venue that offers the complete rustic barn experience but recently the owners have completed the barn by creating four walls and doors. (It only had 3 walls before!) This has really transformed the atmosphere by creating a more cosy barn feel which was perfect for Anne and Morgan’s September wedding. It was amazing using the random areas of spot lights and candle light as a starting point for approaching the photography.

Themes

Two themes ran through the day which came from two important things in Anne and Morgan’s life. Music being the first. Having many of their friends provide world class choral music in the church was totally mind blowing. Anne works in the wine world and so the drink at the wedding reception was very important. Impressively they managed to find drinks branded with their surname!

Photography

This was another Great British weather wedding where I had snippets of nice weather to work with which was a little frustrating but by planning my ‘go to’ spots the minute the sun came out I was all over it! Anne and Morgan had told me from the outset that being able to enjoy the day uninterrupted was more important to them that spending ages getting specific shots. This approach isn’t for everyone and would scare the pants off some wedding photographers but this kind of hands off approach resonates with me and I thrive on the challenge of getting some great shots under such strict conditions.

Feedback

Hi Mark

As the dust is beginning to settle, I just wanted to thank you so much for your calm and unobtrusive presence on our wedding day! I’m really looking forward to seeing the photos. I hope you didn’t get too wet and muddy – the state of my dress at the end of the night was something to behold!

Many thanks again

Anne”
