A wonderful Wye Valley wedding

The fantastic Clare and Ben chose what must be some of the most beautiful wedding venues in the UK. Penault Old Church simply took my breath away. Located down a long windy road on the side of a small valley, the small church is the only building in sight with unspoilt views of the rugged Welsh country side. If this wasn’t enough, the path leading down to the church is lined with small trees having an almost continental feel. As the sun broke through the formidable clouds as Clare and Ben left the church the light through the trees created a scene of cinematic perfection. Clare had planned the timing of the wedding to coincide with the optimum bluebell coverage at a nearby woodland that Clare had grown up with so a brief stop provided a perfect back drop for a few portrait shots, well less portrait shots and more me photographing them being unbelievably happy in each others company! To complete the amazing venue trio the reception was held in a marquee in a neighbors elevated field with views across the Wye Valley which just got better and better as the sun set on a very special day.

Lyndsey and Michael must have devoted every waking moment to planing their wedding. So much happened! The day was a roller coaster ride of tears to laughter, from church readings to all of the guests dancing on the tables and singing. lots and lots of singing. Lyndsey and Michael put so many little personal touches in to their day that it really would be a challenge to list them all. They shipped in some of the best wedding industry people to help them including the vintage78 dj’s Matt and Annabel who could quite possibly be the coolest thing you could ever have at your wedding. Perfect day vintage provided china and decor touches and it was great to work with the video crafts people Shutterbox films. The day was flooded with crisp low winter light which I adore despite the sub zero temperatures!

What a perfect combination!….

Just a few pictures from the great winter wedding of Kerry and Matt. They decided to have their wedding in two sections. They invited family and closest friends to a small intimate ceremony after getting ready together in the same hotel room! I have never seen this before but it was such a nice atmosphere and they supported each other through the morning nerves. After the formal bit was done they invited everyone they knew to the evening reception and the party began!

The super lovely Alice and Ian chose the relatively new venue Browsholme Hall to host their really unique wedding. I say really unique but they couldn’t have designed their day any other way. It was just..’them’ which always makes me smile when couples design their day with this in mind. Alice arrived in her baby blue Beetle and looked fantastic with her flower headband and sparkly Converse trainers. Ian had wanted to introduce a hat theme for the guests and himself which was fun and I got to wear my best trilby!
